Paro Tshechu: ( Festival )
Paro Tshechu starts from 10th day till the 15th day of 2nd month of the Bhutanese calendar. It has a sin washing mask dances and the dramatisation of the life and death performed by the monks to entertain and educate the people.
Paro is the most beautiful valley of the country. It has fertile land between the hills on both sides divided by the Pa-chu (river). We will see the modern arts and the traditional arts on the beautiful farm houses and the Monastries, Dzongs and lhakhags guarded by the monks.

Western Cultural Tour:
We will drive to Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan, Puakha which is the winter residence of the monastic body and Phobjikha valley which is one of the main place where Black Necked Crane is found.

TRASHI DELEK
Day 1 ( 7th April, 2017 ) Arrive in Paro Paro (2280 m)
Arrive at Paro International Airport. you will be welcomed by our guide by offering Trashi Khadhar. We will drive to the hotel for a welcome tea and refreshment.
If time permits we will attend the 1st day Paro Tshechu and move around the town.

Day 2 ( 8th April, 2017): Paro Festival
After breakfast we will walk towards Paro Rimpung Dzong via Nyamai Zam ( a traditional wooden bridge) to witness 2nd day Tshechu. We will mix around with the different people in their festive dress and enjoy the mask dance performed by the monks and get blessings. We will spend the whole morning watching the festival. In the afternoon we will enter the dzong and look at the art and architecture of Bhutanese. Then we will drive to visit National Musium which is at the top of the Dzong. if time permits we will visit Dumtse Lhakhang and Chhoeten Lhakhang.

Day 3 ( 9th April, 2017): Hike to Taktsang Monastry, Paro
After early Breakfast, we will drive 15 Km towards the north to reach the base of Taktsang Monastry. We will have to hike 2-3 hours to reach the clinging Monastry in the cliff. This Monastry is the Jewel of Bhutan and one must visit this. This is an important place of pilgrimage. According to legend Padmasambhava arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated for 3 years, 3 months and 3 weeks. After going down we will visit the ruins of Drugyel Dzong, Satsam Chorten and Kitchu Lhakhang. We will also look around the beauty of the village and town.

Day 4 ( 10th April, 2017): Paro festival.
After breakfast we will again walk towards the Paro Rimpung Dzong via Nyamai Zam ( a traditional wooden bridge) to witness the Tshechu. The festival is about the dramatisation of life and death.
In the afternoon we will enter the dzong and look at the art and architecture of Bhutanese. Then we will drive to visit National Musium which is at the top of the Dzong. if time permits we will visit Dumtse Lhakhang and Chhoeten Lhakhang. We will also enjoy the fun of the festival around the Paro town and mingle up with the local bhutanese people.

Day 5 ( 11th April, 2017 ): Thanka day and attend festival; Drive to Thimphu ( 2320 M)

Early mooring at around 4:00 am we will drive towards the Dzong to witness the Chibdrel ceremony. In this Chibdrel ceremony a big Thanka of Guru Padmasambhava was brought from the Dzong to unfurl for the well-being of the people. The Thanka has to be folded back before the sun rises.
If we are lucky we will also have an opportunity to talk to our King and Queen who come to witness a big Thanka annually. We will witness the dance of 8
manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava.
In the evening we will drive to Thimphu via Tamchu Lhakhang and Chhudzomsa. The night will be in Hotel in Thimphu.

Day 6 ( 12th April, 2017): Thimphu
After breakfast we will visit Memorial Chorten, the tallest sitting Buddha Dordenma, Changangkha Lhakhang, The Takin zoo, Zulakha Nunnary, Dechen Phodrang Monastry where more than 300 small monks gets buddhist education.We will also visit Trashichhodzong followed by shopping time in the capital city in the evening.

Day 7 ( 13th April, 2017) Thimphu
A day starts with a drive to Dodena (19 Km from Thimphu) and climb a hill to visit Chhari Monastry. It has all meditators and we are not suppose to enter the boundary but we can enter the monastery and the lhakhangs and get blessings.
After coming back we will visit traditional Painting School, Folk Heritage mu-seum and Textile museum too.

Day 8 ( 14th April, 2017) Thimphu to Phobjikha (2900 m)
A day starts with a drive to the south of Thimphu where we will be visiting Simtokha Dzong which is the first Dzong built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in the 16th century. Then we will drive via Hongtsho to reach Dochula Pass ( 3140 m ). We will make circumambulation to108 chorten and visit Druk Wangyel Lhakhang. Your Guide will narrate a history of this lhakhang and chortens.
We will drive via narrow Thinleygang valley, Mitsena valley and Lobesa valley. We will view the ruins of Wangduephodrang Dzong and pass by the wangduephodrang town to reach Phobjikha valley. The night will be in a hotel in Phobjikha.

Day 9 ( 15th April, 2017) Phobjikha to Punakha
A day starts with visit in the Gangtay Gompa Lhakhang. Then we will visit Wangmo Hand woven carpet factory, black backed crane information centre and we will hike around to enjoy the beauty of the village.
In the afternoon we will drive to reach Punakha via Wangduephodrang. The night will be in a home stay or Hotel in Punakha.

Day 10 ( 16th April, 2017) Punakha to Thimphu
After breakfast we will visit Dzong which is the winter residence for the Central Monastic body built in 16th century. Then we will hike to Zangdopelri of Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten and have beautiful views of the village.
After Lunch we will drive to the south and hike to Chhimi Lhakhang. you will receive a blessings of Lama Drukpa Kuenley and you will enjoy the story which your guide will narrate to you. We will pass via Dochula Pass to reach Thimphu
If time permits we will have a time to do the shopping in the town.

Day 11 ( 17th April, 2017) Drive to Paro for departure.
After breakfast our guide and driver will drop you to the air port and bid farewell.
